Case studies I have looked into  -

Ratatouille - Remy is a non human character but one we still relate to.

Carl for up - People of any age can relate and empathise with him

TMNT - Every version of the turtles has a different design and a different way for people to relate and empathise with them.

Continuing with the practical -

The sixties was a freighting time - civil rights movements - generation gaps, nucellar war. Lots of riots. Generally a time of a lot of fighting, a lot of war. But the fashion was very bright and colourful.
Just come out of a time where things were expected of each of us, but the sixties was an era of change.

Here was my first finished version of Jane, she was based of one of the original concept designs.

 I then continued to do a series of different Janes so that I had could post it online and receive feedback for which people most prefer. My personal favourites are the bottom right, the bottom middle and the upper middle.

Most of the feedback I got favoured the top right, bottom middle and bottom left, and second into the bottom on the left.
